Facilities Technician

Job Summary
As a Facilities Operations Technician, you will be at the core of our maintenance team, reporting to the Facilities Manager. Your duties will include regular building maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth event setups and takedowns in our Legacy Center. Your commitment to safety, efficiency, and high-quality work will play a significant role in our ministry’s success
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This is an individual contributor role with no supervisory responsibility.
Essential Functions
- Conduct daily walk through of the facility, identifying repair/service needs (including company vehicles), and maintaining the facility maintenance log.
- Partner with the Facilities Manager to discuss building maintenance needs.
- Perform all minor repairs requested by Campus Manager and Facilities Director.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and document in the appropriate files.
- Perform monthly OHSA safety checks as required on the OSHA Preventative Maintenance Guidelines, and model all OSHA, organizational and facilities department safety guidelines daily.
- Place seasonal building decorations as needed.
- Move and assemble furniture and other equipment as required.
- Set-up and break down venue for church events and rental events.
- Attend and effectively complete all training required by TFBC.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills Needed
- Communication– providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email, or in person.
- Critical Thinking – uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Judgment and Decision Making– considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Education and Experience
- All facilities technicians must be at least 18 years of age.
- This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- General experience in repair/maintenance of equipment and physical building.
- General knowledge of HVAC and/or electrical equipment.
- Two (2) years’ experience in operations/maintenance required.
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in priority management and agility in responding to shifting priorities.
- General understanding of computer skills, including e-mail.
Job Hours Requirements
- This position requires a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the facility. Applicants should expect their schedule to include evening and weekend hours based on scheduled events. Adaptability to changes in scheduling is essential for success in this role.
Travel Requirements
- A valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record is required.
